The St. Louis Cardinals will play game 1 of the fall classic against the Red Sox. This is the 109th World Series. The Cardinals beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 6 games to reach the World Series. The Red Sox took a similar path winning in game six against the Detroit Tigers. Game 1 has Adam Wainwright pitching for St. Louis and Jon Lester opposing for the Red Sox. The game will be played at Boston's Fenway Park as well as game 2 and also games 6 and 7 if necessary. Games 3, 4 and 5 will be played at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. Each game will be televised on FOX and the first pitches will be 7:07 CT except game 4 which will start at 7:15 CT. Game 2's starting pitchers are scheduled to be Michael Wacha for the Cardinals and John Lackey for Boston. The World Series last year was won by the San Francisco Giants over the Detroit Tigers in four games.
